Mr Adams, 46, told the hearing he had been on bail on September 27 for a 2009 offence of indecent assault.

Mr Adams said he had no intention of being convicted of sexual assault, and had pleaded not guilty.
‘The bail conditions are reasonable and the bail conditions do not require me to submit to such prosecution. It is a breach of bail to put me into any sort of a position where I am accused in any way of doing anything or inciting any harm to any person,’ Mr Adams told the court.
He added: ‘Bail conditions for this young lady were reasonably reasonable because of the prior offence.’
After leaving court yesterday Mr Adams was asked: ‘Do you admit in any way that you are guilty?’ and said: ‘Yes, in full knowledge and full belief that I am guilty.’
In the hearing today judge Mr Justice Bremner said a case had been dismissed by the court of summary adjudication, saying that the girl could be saved from going on hunger strike without having to undergo a retrial.
He accepted that the bail conditions were reasonable, said he could only apply for bail once a police report was lodged.
Mr Justice Bremner refused to issue bail and said he could accept that Mr Adams was not a convicted paedophile and did not know of any other cases like himself, but said: ‘Bail conditions were not reasonable at the time of the proceedings’.
Bail conditions in England and Wales apply to convicted offenders facing life imprisonment or life imprisonment plus 1 year without possibility of parole.
